Policing issues

How about a topic on policing,or the seemingly lack of it.....

We could do with better security at the school it is so easy for anybody to get into the playground which usually has people urinating in the wooded part of the grounds, and alot of noise late at night from other parts. The litter is awful by the step's,there should be more bin's around the village in general.P

  • The school need to sort out security as every weekend now the playground is being used as a meeting place. The noise is getting worse and also the language and the rubbish are too,it's not nice having people use the place as a toilet either, our children have to play there during the week god know's what they will pick up,the policing in the village is a joke(that's if you ever see any)and if you call them they don't give a damn, what do we pay our taxes for, they are quick enough to fine people for speeding but sod all else they get nothing out of that do they. It's the same when we had the traveller's here they seemed very reluctant to go and sort any of the problem's out with them, maybe they are just scared of them or afraid of upsetting them in case they are accused of discrimination, that's ok they just don't give a t--s about the local people.P

  • A question for P, Do you call the police when this is going on? If you don't call them, how on earth can anything be done? These problems need addressing but you can't leave it just to the Police, there needs to be a community involvement. There was th eskate park once, but the community didn't support it and assist with the running of it, so it shut down. It's a shame, but that's teh way of the world. People are too quick to blame other people. I'm sure the local police and PCSO's will look into the problems highlighted, but only if they know about them. SH

  • The police have been called but they never have a patrol car free as they are alway's tied up with more important thing's.And as for the skate park we used to do our turn thank you we have alway's been involved with activities for the children of bothe villages and supported local event's and i agree about everybody getting involed, but we organised cover constantly for the skate park etc but people never turned up,no wonder nothing ever lasts.P

  • I understand your frustration. Thanks for trying to get the skate park up and running. As you say, if the youths don't want to go, what can you do for them?
