Circus

As I am sure everyone knows by now the circus is coming to town thanks to the Friends of Greenford School. I will post some stuff on the web site about it soon. Below are a few comments that were posted elsewhere. I spoke to Mr Atkinson today and he said that most, though not all, of the tickets had been sold. This is good news but it would be a great help to the school and improve the atmosphere of the day if the remaining ones could be sold.

  • • Small Point. MN Herald March 2006 said "The Circus is Coming To Town" and that it will be the first professional circus to do so.
    Is that really true. About 30 years ago I reckon one came to the village. Down Frome Lane behind the Garage. I even think it might have been Gerry Cottle before he 'went large'. Anyone else remember please?

    • Still, I think it should be supported as it's a village event being organised by the village school.

    Does anyone know why the "Village Event" was discontinued? It used to be held in the early nineties..... Deb

    I must admit that i have not heard about the Village Event,but i think it would be good to have something like that where bothe Villages join together it would certainly bring them closer.ST

  • Has anyone asked the Museum Group whether they have any pictures of the previous circus? If not, I will. We are really lucky to live in such an active village, compare it to some others and we are brilliant, except for the pavements etc...Deb

  • I agree with Deb we are very lucky that a lot of thing's go on in our villages and usually get good support from the local people,lets hope the circus will be no exception i for one am looking forward to it as are my children.ST
